FedEx Ground Sunday delivery available for 95% of US population

FedEx Ground's seven-days-a-week residential delivery will cover 95% of the US population as of September 13th 2020.

The international courier company added Sunday delivery as part of its standard service earlier this year, after adding Saturdays in 2018. Its Saturday coverage is currently available to more than 96% of the population.

FedEx Ground is FedEx's domestic road service, as distinguished from its international FedEx Express offerings by air.

FedEx also announced six new regional sortation facilities, four new automated sortation centres, eight new or expanded large package facilities, and expansions to more than 50 existing facilities across the US.

“We’re excited to have expanded our e-commerce capabilities even further—including the acceleration of FedEx Ground’s seven-day a week residential delivery, investments in automated facilities and growth in our FedEx Freight Direct service and our retail convenience network,” said Raj Subramaniam, president and COO of FedEx.

“These strategic investments will help better support what is expected to be an unprecedented holiday shipping season.”
