DPD has sealed a deal with vehicle manufacturer Maxus for 750 e Deliver vans, doubling their e-vehicle fleet to almost 1,500.

The courier company has purchased the 72kw and 88kw versions of the e Deliver 9 model, as well as the smaller e Deliver 3. 500 of the vans in the order are long wheelbase vans that can carry up to 3.5 tonnes.

The 88kw e Deliver 9 can cover over 200 miles on a single charge, according to DPD.

The company’s head of corporate social responsibility, Olly Craughan, described the range of the new EVs as “a real game changer”, as the company previously had to focus on compact routes, limiting them mainly to city centres.

DPD also noted that its new e Deliver 9 vans would feature in its first ever TV advert in the UK, which will promote its green parcel delivery solutions.
