Courier company Hermes has rebranded to Evri in the UK, as of this week.

Following a deal with GMB Union, the company also announced it would be investing millions of pounds in pensions for its employees, auto-enrolling “self-employed plus” (SE+) couriers, an employee status they introduced in 2019 which accounts for around 85% of its courier network.

Evri will also be investing in improvements to customer service and bringing in a team that is fully UK-based, with more experts at local depots.

The company said it will continue to focus on ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria such as renewable energy sources.

According to Martijn de Lange, CEO of Evri, the rebrand is more than just a name change and “heralds a new culture” at the company.

The brand will remain Hermes in the rest of Europe.
