Deutsche Post DHL Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ford Pro to accelerate the use of electric vehicles for last-mile deliveries.
The plan is for Ford Pro to provide Deutsche Post DHL Group with more than 2,000 electric delivery vans by the end of 2023, including the new Ford E-Transit.
To enable operation of the electric fleet, Deutsche Post DHL Group will have access to Ford Pro software and charging solutions.
Both companies have net zero targets: Ford is targeting zero emissions for all vehicle sales, as well as carbon neutrality across Europe by 2035, while both Ford and Deutsche Post DHL Group are aiming for zero emissions or global carbon neutrality by 2050.
A Memorandum of Understanding is an acknowledgement of joint purpose or proposed collaboration without a legal commitment.
