Transglobal Express has received a commendation for its role in promoting learning at work, through a week-long event that allowed employees to get a taste of different roles within the company.
Campaign for Learning, which runs Learning At Work Week, invited organisations to show how they used the event to promote and encourage learning in the workplace, with a range of awards on offer for different categories.
Transglobal Express received a Commended ranking for the OpenLearn Impact Award for Supporting Business and Organisational Goals. The commendation means that the judges felt our entry was of a high standard and deserved to be recognised.
In their announcement, Campaign for Learning said:
“The training team coordinated a successful week which provided a business-wide awareness and enabled employees through first-hand experiences to not only improve their interaction with colleagues but gain a much more in-depth understanding of each other’s roles and ultimately the aims and objectives of the business. Learning at Work Week provided a space for employees to gain insight into an area of the business, which would be ‘unobtainable’ during a normal working week. [...]
“The week has reinforced Transglobal Express’ approach as a fun, innovative and positive environment to work in where departments strive to deliver engaging and exciting ways to keep morale and motivation high.”
As part of the event, heads of department hosted individuals for the day to show them the ropes and give them a better sense of what each team’s work entailed. This in turn helped our business with its internal recruitment processes, as applicants became more knowledgeable about the roles for which they might apply.
Learning At Work Week was a success for us and we certainly intend to run similar events again in the future.
