As DX continues to grow, they have decided to expand into Preston, where they are opening a new depot designed to provide extra capacity for their parcel network in the Northwest.
The facility is situated on 1.4 acres within the Preston Industrial Estate. With easy access to the M6 and M65 motorways, the facility will offer improved transit connections. The new depot is intended to reduce the distance from hub to customer, lower carbon emissions, improve efficiency and boost customer service.
DX now owns 41 depots overall, including eight that opened in 2023. This is part of the company's continuing capital investment programme, which aims to drive continued growth and development.
DX Group's CEO, Paul Ibbetson, has commented: “The new depot will enhance our position in the Northwest, increasing the capacity and capability of our Parcels operation.”
“It will deliver further efficiencies to our operations and provide local customer service benefits, always a priority for the Group. It will also lower carbon emissions by reducing stem mileage.”
