DHL Express have entered into partnership with PHL Post, the Philippine Postal Corporation, in order to provide international courier services through post offices in the Philippines. Senior vice president of DHL Express Southeast Asia Yasmin Aladad Khan said that the model was reflective of similar partnerships with postal services in Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam.

DHL customers will soon be able to send parcels internationally via 12 PHL Post locations across the Philippines, with further locations expected to be rolled out next year.

The alliance is intended to be mutually beneficial, allowing PHLPost to expand the number of shipping options available to domestic customers and simultaneously permitting DHL to expand its networks in Asia.

Josefina de la Cruz – Postmaster General Manager and CEO of the Philippine Postal Corporation –  said of the venture,“Our partnership will see us leverage on the extensive network and services of DHL Express to further boost our product offerings and reach. It will extend over and beyond the maximum weight limit permissible and outside of the existing serviceable countries of our Express Mail Service. This will enable us to be more globally competitive and ready to serve the increasing demands of our customers.”
