Just days after the latest UPS freight rates have come into effect, FedEx has announced its own price rise for road freight services in the USA.

UPS’s freight rates for services in the USA, Canada and Mexico were increased by 5.9% this Monday. FedEx, their fellow American competitors, haS announced that its new freight rates, which will come into effect early next month, will be increased by the lower rate of 4.5% on average.

FedEx Freight confirmed that the price hike will apply to its FXF 1000 and FXF 501 services  and apply to all US shipments, including those to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Fuel charges will remain unchanged, the company confirmed.
