Last week, UPS opened a new freight forwarding facility in Halifax, Canada. The investment is part of UPS’ strategic Atlantic Canada expansion with includes new depots in Calgary, Alberta, Ontario, Toronto and Burlington who will be given a healthcare facility.

“Today’s grand opening celebrates our expansion into Atlantic Canada and reinforces our commitment to Canada’s businesses and communities”, said Mike Tierney, president of UPS Canada.
Alongside many benefits, the new UPS freight hub will help with the improvement of guaranteed delivery times. Beyond that, new capacities will allow for shortened transit times for early morning deliveries.
A Percy Paris, spokesman stated that the new opening was proof of UPS’ commitment to Canada and its economy: “This multi-million dollar investment in the region will create more than 250 UPS jobs.”
UPS has operated in Canada since 1975 and currently employs more then 10,000 people.
