DHL and Cryo Express confirm partnership extension

DHL has recently confirmed its decision to extend its on-going partnership with Cryo Express. Having been involved in a joint venture with Cryo Express since 2008, DHL has provided the company with assistance in preparation and supplying of dry ice and cooled services for the development of its Clinical Research Organisations (CRO) and Laboratories customers. The two company’s existing partnership focuses centrally on successfully providing clinical trial investigators within Europe with packaging containing active cooling materials to ship samples. The services are now provided to DHL’s extensive customer base from seven sites throughout Europe to enable a fast turnaround. The extension of the partnership will enable more customers to gain access to the Cryo Express dry ice supply. DHL will also see the introduction of larger packaging options as part of its Medical Express service for the clinical trials industry.

Cryo Express has recently opened a newly built logistics facility in close proximity of DHL’s main European hub situated in Leipzig, Germany. The choice of the new location has been designed to provide to customer’s needs by increasing Cryo Express’ ability to provide the highest quality product and services until the latest possible time. The additional support from DHL’s express networks, this will also ensure the most heightened operational efficiency.

Cryo Express’ headquarters based in Bibigny, France, functions as a control tower, shipping from the most efficient location to the clinical trial investigators. Those requiring services order through a dedicated customer services platform.

CEO of Cryo Express, Christophe Boustouller, has also expressed his enthusiasm in regards to the extended partnership with the parcel delivery company, commented that the partnership with DHL Express will “ensure the reliable supply of dry ice within…critical timeframes that customers demand.” Boustouller has also stated Cryo Express are “delighted to be renewing the partnership with DHL” and that they are “particularly excited about the additional opportunities [the] agreement will create to…supply to a broader customer based in Europe…”
