British heavy metal band Iron Maiden will be conducting their latest world tour in their very own Boeing 747, dubbed “Ed Force One” after their mascot Eddie the Head.

Last night they revealed the plane on Periscope, a live streaming app, as it arrived at Cardiff Airport, Wales. They will next be headed to Ft Lauderdale, Florida, to kick of the band’s Book of Souls tour.

Most notably, Bruce Dickinson, lead vocalist, will be piloting the plane himself. Dickinson has been a pilot since 1990, with a brief tenure as a professional charter pilot for Astraeus Airlines.

This is the first time Ed Force One will be visiting Europe, according to the band, though for logistical reasons they’ll be reverting to the more traditional truck-and-bus touring after their Swedish show.
