Challenge accepted! Our bikeathon in aid of The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is raising funds for a social room and roof terrace in their new Liverpool hospital, to help lessen the sense of isolation cancer patients often experience during their treatment.

Transglobal Express has signed up for the Charity's corporate challenge: to take £50 and turn it into £1000 or more.

We have already undertaken a range of small fundraising activities and sponsored events, including a Santa Dash and a Doughnuts Day. So far we've raised £448. Now it's time for the main event!

The bikeathon

We have decided to attempt an indoor bikeathon (on an exercise bike), cycling the distance between our Bromborough office in the UK and our Kelsterbach office in Germany. According to Google Maps, this is approximately 697 miles.

Our staff volunteers—at the moment, 28 of us—will take it in turns to cycle, one person at a time. We'll be cycling throughout working hours (8am-6.30pm) for the whole working week from March 27th to March 31st.

Our Managing Director has pledged that Transglobal Express will match whatever we can raise. At the very least we would like to reach our £1000 goal before we double it, but we would love to be able to stretch this further if possible.
