Japan is one of the world's top cultural centres and has a keen consumer base, which means there are plenty of e-commerce opportunities for international sellers.

Express services to Japan usually take 2-3 days, while economy services can take 4-5 days. Deliveries to or from remote areas may require additional time.

Customs information for Japan

When sending a parcel to Japan, your goods will be required to go through customs clearance. We’ll generate your customs invoice for you, alongside your shipping labels and a manifest for proof of collection. All you need to do is print them off.

You will need to ensure to include accurate, detailed descriptions of your goods during the booking process—businesses can use their own templates if preferred.

You can view carriers’ lists of restrictions for Japan, or visit the Japan Customs website, where you can view customs by region. We also have our own list of restricted and prohibited items.

Sending from Japan to the UK?

Need to send a parcel from Japan to the UK? Good news: we also offer UPS and TG Express import services. All you need to do is pick Japan as your “Sending from” address when entering your details for a quote.

As usual, we’ll generate all of the necessary documentation, which you can forward to the collection point if you’re not there.
