UK Mail is rebranding to DHL Parcel UK, the company announced.

The postal service has 50 sites across the UK, which will all be rebranded along with the company’s vehicles, website and social media channels. This follows DHL’s acquisition of UK Mail at the end of 2016.

However, while parcel operations are part of the DHL rebrand, the UK Mail brand will continue to exist for mail and packet customers.

“The rebrand represents the next stage in our alignment with DHL in terms of values and ambition in the parcels market,” said UK Mail CEO Peter Fuller. “DHL is one of the most recognisable and respected brands in the world. Our people are proud to be a part of it and we will be able to provide our customers with a wider international and domestic product offering to benefit the developing UK delivery market.”

Fuller described the rebrand as “a gradual transition and an important milestone that we will achieve throughout 2018 and the first quarter of 2019”.

Earlier this year, UK Mail hit the news when, according to GMB union, drivers at its Runcorn depot were told to sign new contracts that would mean pay cuts of £2,000 per driver.

UK Mail responded: “Due to a significant increase in the number of parcels UK Mail is carrying, the earnings of self-employed drivers, who are paid per delivery stop, have gone up correspondingly over the last year and that volume is forecast to increase further in 2018.

“To be able to offer customers the competitive prices they demand, we have renegotiated our parcel delivery rate with drivers. But due to the increase in volumes carried by each courier the overall amount they can earn will on average go up without having to travel further or incur additional costs.”
