TNT Post UK has recently launched their services within the thriving city of Liverpool. The decision to expand follows the company’s move to Manchester in November of last year; this being TNT Post’s first venture into mail delivery outside of London.

The company has employed 500 postal delivery staff as part of the expansion, which recently started to carry out their duties within the Liverpool area.

TNT Post UK has disclosed their plans to double their delivery staff in the UK capital up to 2,000 postal workers. In addition to those recently employed within the Liverpool expansion, the company now has 3,000 people employed regarding postal delivery within the UK. The company has said their decision to open business in Liverpool was grounded on the “welcoming” approach to attract inward investment that the city possesses.

TNT Post has invested in employing young people, as well as the long-term unemployed individuals for their new Liverpool team. Nick Wells, TNT Post UK’s Chief Executive, has said their target audience for employment was aimed at helping those “who may have found it hard to get back into the work place.” The initial weekly rota for the post-delivery role will be an alternate day, three-day-a-week service, which will appear especially attractive to those returning to work, those having to balance childcare responsibilities or those who may have recently left education.

Wells has said: “Our commitment to our new employees does not stop when they begin work. We will help develop their careers through our dedicated training and development programmes.”
