It has been reported that Air China Cargo, China Cargo Airlines and China Southern Cargo are due to merge together to form Asia’s largest airfreight carrier. The reveal came this week from deputy director of China’s Civil Aviation Administration, Zhou Laizhen.

Air China Cargo is currently a joint project between Air China and Cathay Pacific. It now owns three Boeing 747-400 freighters, in addition to eight B777Fs. Once it takes on the delivery of additional 777s, it has been said that it will be China’s largest cargo airline.

Air China Cargo currently has hubs located in Beijing and Shanghai, operating to Frankfurt, Amsterdam, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Taipei and many more destinations.
