General Information for Brazil
Customs regulations apply for international destinations. Please refer to our Customs Information.
All shipments sent to Brazil require the Tax ID of the recipient, which is similar to a company registration number. The term ‘Tax ID’ will not necessarily be recognised in Brazil; the terms to use are:
- Cadastro Nacional Pessoa Juridica (CNPJ) – (Businesses)
- Cadastro de Pessoa Fisica (CPF) – (Private individuals)
- Shipments without this may be subject to fines or returned at cost. Please ensure this is provided at the time of booking and included on the customs invoice.
Shipments with a declared value above 3000 USD will be converted into formal entry, but will be subject to additional customs charges.
High duty and tax may apply to your shipment, it is strongly recommend you contact the Brazilian Embassy prior to shipping for further advice.
Duties and tax may still be applicable if the shipment is returned or abandoned.
